Favorites menu is grayed out in IE8
Hello, i need some urgent help from you all guys. Today when i started my Internet Explorer 8 to start my work, i found that the favorites bar is grayed. this problem was not before, why suddenly it got grayed. Please help me. How can i get it back?

This problem occurs if the Group policy editor options are forced. To get it back you need to work with Group policy editor. So, go to start and run the command prompt. In command prompt type gpedit.msc and press Enter. Now locate to

Local Computer Policy/Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer
On the right side scroll down to Turn off Favorites bar and double click it.

You will see a dialog box, Place a Dot on Disabled or Not Configured option and click OK.

Thats it. Now restart the Browser and you'll find the Favorites menu back.

If you are using XP computer than the steps are little bit different, try this:-

1. Open the command prompt and type regedit an Enter.

2. Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Window/CurrentVersion/Policies/Internet Explorer/Restrictions.

3. If you find any key or entry of NoFavorites, delete it by right clicking on it.

Thats it. You are done !!
