What Is the most disappointing things in Tribes: Ascend
I like this game but there is nothing enough to do with this, I am really disappointed by this game. The combat feels extremely limited and I'm lacking a 3rd weapon slot, generator defense and offense is pointless because you can spawn fully equipped either way, most of the midfield battles feel pointless because health regents, and you spawn fully equipped, the vehicles hardly play a role and in other hand deployable hardly play a role. The new weapons and packs take long time to unlock; the maps are not good enough. I think this game can improve lots of thing. So what you all think on this comment here.

Yes I am agreeing with above post and I have stopped playing this game just because they have ruined this game. At first I thought the fixed Loadouts system would be okay, but the more I play the more I realize that I miss the ability to customize my weapons and equipment. An option present in almost every other shooter I've played recently. I think this game should give option to customize weapons. There used to be transporters filled with heavies assaulting bases, bombers flying over, deployable you had to defend and capping a flag was just a small component of a whole meta game, in Tribes Ascend flag capping/chasing seems just about the only thing worth your energy, If you have 3 good experienced HOs, they can single-handedly completely and decisively shut down an entire pub team of casuals on a "typical" map. This usually causes a global drop in the other team's morale and IQ level, which makes them play even worse and more uncoordinated than usual, making them even easier targets, and the end result of matches like these is that the opposing HOs end up with more kills per person than the combined kill count of the entire enemy team.

As a player I agree, I would rather be able to have more flexibility in what I use. It would provide me with more options. Even if it was limited to 'Roles' classes and the ability to swap weapons about inside those roles, by the way of TF2, then I'd be happy. From a game balance standpoint, it provides a lot more creativity. A Loadouts only has to be balanced against the overall impact of other Loadouts. This gives more freedom to tinker with and create combinations without concern of just one component being too strong. This is direct contrast if they were to use the traditional Tribes method of picking your components. In that case, each component would have to be rigorously tested against every other component to prevent one option from being far too power, from creating.

Re: What Is the most disappointing thing in Tribes: Ascend
I have installed this game and I have started playing this last couple of days. First I like this game but afterward I feel bit boring because the maps are big and some classes are really slow, it can get incredibly frustrating to spend a minute walking, take a random disk and then you're pretty much useless. The previous Tribes games you could pop on energy pack or repair pack and had deployable stations. If there's no region, no one is going to play heavies. There are lots of thing frustrated on this game and I would like to share with you all:
Health region, as mentioned turns every fight into a get hit and run away to regen.
Maps are small and vehicles are a waste
Deployable and mounted guns do little to stop flag cappers.
Skiing is out of control. Holding down the ski key and sliding across half the map is silly and now good enough
Game is too determined by people who learn a few specific ski routes and then just zip back and forth.

It's pretty much exactly the same as every other tribe that existed. Except you can hold one key instead of having to spam the jump key rapid fire. If Tribes is anything, it's jump packs and skiing. I agree somewhat, although I agree with whoever said no one would play heavy if there were no regen. Possible solution would be to keep heavies on the same regen timer as now, then increase medium regen time, then further increase light regen time. I don't mind the regen so much; I like the maps and sizes, but vehicles need some work before they will be a viable part of the game. Deployable guns are fine, but mounted guns need to be improved in order for the gen to be important.

Re: What Is the most disappointing thing in Tribes: Ascend
The lack of balance is killing the game for me. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't all forced into playing a particular class. There are glaring problems with several of the classes: The Technician only has 1 weapon, the Doombringer has been nerfed to the point of ineffectiveness, and the Jumper and Brute are pretty much pointless. There are other classes to play, but when perks are thrown into the game, you are pretty much stuck grinding bad classes and that is disappointing. I would like to see Doombringer to have an arm amputated or something else on this game and that could be nice. Until genuine balance changes are made, I don't see myself picking the game up again anytime soon. The class balance has done it for me. With combat slowed to a more tactical approach, the reasons to play a certain class over another has been watered down with spawning in your Loadouts and the limited weapons on each class. It really nerf what you can do and dulls the overall experience. Perhaps it's because some weapons are just much more effective than others, but it still feels like sluggish combat trying to force a weapon to do something it wasn't designed to do when you get caught in a bad situation.

I think this game should add trees so that when someone skies and hits one over a certain speed they die. That would be funny! Plus the added bonus of some fast mover skiing by, you knock them back with a blast and they hit a tree and splat, I paid to unlock all the classes because I love the concept of a return to tribes. And while the game feels like tribes, it is not quite there yet. Along with this I think Vehicles need to be more accessible. Deployable self powered. Classes need more weapon options. Heavies need to be heavier, not move as fast, not fly as high, more durability in exchange - heavies did not dodge attacks so much as endure damage more credibly. Not sure what else, but the game is missing something I have not yet figured out.

According to me this game is just horrible and I would suggest don’t play this game. I regret spending my 30 bucks on the VIP package when another shooter out there is 30 dollars right now. I loved tribes 1 and 2 too, but this is not even close to those games besides a jet pack and a Spinfusor. I feel more like I’m playing halo or some sort of TDM games. I have unlocked 2 others, sniper and Jugg, and still have a ton of VIP gold and the boost. I just have no desire to play the others or even unlock them. Game is missing something, and I doubt it'll get fixed.

There are some pretty frustrating things in this game, like the visual effects on your screen when you get damaged, team in full gen def or gen offense, some games with billions of technicians, that doombringer camping mid map with the saber launcher (do they even get kills like that? it's just boring listening to that ding ding sound everytime you jump more than 5 meters high). Instead of having a chaingun you can shoot forever and ever till you run out of bullets. Have belts of ammo that are only like 50 - 60 bullets or something along those lines, then have a few second reload period where you have to load another belt of ammo. Making it just like every other weapon - enough to finish off a person if you are GOOD with the weapon - but if you suck and need 2 or 3 or 4 belts of ammo to finish off a person you will have long been dead. It encourages skill with the weapon and not just spray and pray with a ridiculously large amount of ammo and never needing reloading
