Commander The Great War: Casualties by disease and harsh weather
I just need to know is there any plan to implement those casualties cause by disease, because my character is still a good 30% of the total and in some campaigns they were determinant, for instance the Allied expeditionary force in Salonika suffered a proportion of casualties by disease and combat that was 30 to 1. In Commander Europe at War there is a shock effect winter where we can find lower organization level of units, but given the importance of manpower attrition in World War 1. I think this game should have better be better to code an effect on the combat power of the unit so that players can spend manpower to reinforce it.

Re: Commander The Great War: Casualties by disease and harsh weather
Now after two titles of the commander series, I don’t want to say i know what to expect, but this being the Lordz Games Studio i guess your guy's 1st shot at the series. Any time we can expect a Beta. I see a link on the main forum, but no news. Also is there some special req. for a B-tester, i mean i have played games long enough to spot F-ups & glitches, any answers to both questions would be great. Thanks

Along with what about disease. The rate id casualties produced by infections in Greece and Mesopotamia was ridiculously high and this has to be lower.

The first Beta group is usually quite small and we add more and more testers with every new build. People in the pool get notified by email when they are selected, selection is totally at random with the exception of a few known, veteran or in house testers, but those are normally already added in the first test group. Try to get a good mix of young and old, newcomers and veterans, people on high end and low end machines. And add more and more coming closer to Gold. Next week we start with the first test group of selected pre-Beta testers, from then on we will crank out new builds every two weeks.

At present the effect of winter is just advanced efficiency loss from moving and attacking. So as long as you sit still during the winter nothing really happens although combats and movement has a much bigger effect on the status of your units. Randomly losing strength forcing the player to repair all units during winter turns sounds a bit too harsh.
