Good evening, Is it possible to connect with a yahoo account on windows live messenger? I want to access my yahoo contacts on windows live messenger, is it possible to do? if yes then how? How to connect with a yahoo account on windows live messenger?

Using Windows live contacs in yahoo messenger
I don't think so it's possible, yeah one thing you can do is to go to Yahoo Messenger. You can see your Windows Live contacts from Yahoo (they appear online when online). The only problem is that your friends, if they use Windows Live Messenger, will not be able to respond. This is supposed to be "compatible" Looks like yahoo messenger is much better.

To add a Yahoo! contact in Windows Live Messenger, (after you've signed up for the beta)just click on the add a contact button. Then type their Yahoo! ID + @yahoo.com (example: example@yahoo.com) Your Yahoo! friend will get an invitation, and once they accept you are ready to chat, see when they’re online, nudge them, send emoticons, send offline IMs, and share your witty personal status messages.

Import a contact list of a messenger to the other messenger
I found no simple procedure to import a contact list of a messenger to the other and take advantage of interoperability without wasting time to add the contacts one by one.

Here's a solution a bit complex but it seems to work:

Export the contact list from MSN Live Messenger (Contacts -> Save Instant Messaging Contacts). You get an XML file with an extension ."CTT"
Edit and manually convert the file into CTT file "Yahoo!" CSV "(for find / replace. To help you, export your address book as a Yahoo! And watch the CSV file format)
Import the new file "Yahoo!" CSV "in the" Yahoo! Address Book "from the website" Yahoo Mail "
Getting Started in Yahoo! Messenger. You see that all new contacts are present in the address book
Finally, we must transfer the contacts from address book in the messenger list. (Contacts -> Import Contacts and choose "From Address Book")

To add Windows Live contact list in Yahoo Messenger:

In the "Chat & Mobile Text" (left side of page), click New Chat.
In the chat window that appears, enter the user name of your Windows Live contact.
The following message (or similar text) is: "To chat with a Windows Live user, you must first add him or her to your Chat list." Click Add Contact.

With the latest version of Windows Live Messenger you can add contacts to Yahoo! Messenger. By conditions is your contact must have the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. You can not initiate chat as your friend Windows Live has not accepted your invitation.
